At the last General Assembly on 3 November 2023, the Leibniz Society elected Professor Dr Axel Haverich as its President. Professor Haverich was previously Director of the Clinic for Cardiothoracic, Transplantation and Vascular Surgery at Hannover Medical School for many years.
